Play Therapy

A set of strategies to promote a safe environment for children to self express, release emotion and develop skills through the power of structured and semi-structured play.

Play therapy is suitable for children under 10 years of age, or minimally verbal children, as it allows them to express how they feel, express their problems and develop skills using structured to semi-structured play environments. The approach of play therapy does not rely on the child having a good understanding of their feelings and putting a label to their thoughts. Rather it promotes children to do what they do best which is to self-express using play, and develop awareness of how they feel and how to cope with life.
